Camber Spine secures patent for 3D-printed implant

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office provided Camber Spine a notice of allowance for its Spira Lateral 3.0 interbody fusion implant, according to a Jan. 14 news release.

The 3D-printed titanium device is designed to promote bone growth in unilateral posterior lumbar interbody fusion.

The Spira portfolio also includes interbody cages for cervical, posterior and other lateral lumbar spine procedures. The company is developing implants for complex deformity cases as well as anterior, lateral and oblique approaches to extremity spine procedures.

This is the 28th patent Camber Spine has received for its Spira portfolio, according to Daniel Pontecorvo, the company's founder and CEO.
