Medtronic and Stryker were named on Fortune's "2021 World's Most Admired Companies" list.
The list features companies across 52 industries that were rated on nine criteria including investment value, quality of management and social responsibility. A company had to score in the top half of its industry to be included in the list.
Last year, Medtronic acquired seven companies, and Geoff Martha was named CEO following Omar Ishrak's retirement. Stryker had seven spine devices that received 510(k) clearance by the FDA in 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, its CEO, Kevin Lobo, along with other executives, took pay cuts.
