Stryker drops ranking in Fortune's list and more: 7 device company updates

Here are seven updates from spine and orthopedic device companies over the past week:

1. Matt Tharp was named CFO of Holt, Mich.-based Orchid Orthopedic Solutions, an orthopedic implant manufacturing company.

2. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus was the first in the state to perform a shoulder replacement surgery with Stryker's Blueprint Mixed Reality.

3. Spinal implant manufacturer Alphatec received regulatory approval for its $116.9 million acquisition of EOS Imaging and expects substantial growth in first-quarter revenue. Read more details here.

4. Orlando, Fla.-based medical device company HT Medical rebranded to Xēnix Medical.

5. St. Paul, Minn.-based Spineology named two new area vice presidents to its sales leadership team. 

6. Orthopedic surgeon Richard Hynes, MD, was the first surgeon to use Viseon's MaxView system for minimally invasive oblique lateral interbody fusion.

7. Stryker made Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the 11th consecutive year, but dropped 80 places to 88th in 2021.
