DJO acquires MedShape

DJO acquired MedShape, in its latest push into the foot and ankle space.

Atlanta-based MedShape, founded in 2005, focuses on foot and ankle devices, according to an April 26 news release. Its devices use the company's patented superelastic nickel titanium shape memory alloy and shape memory polymer technologies.

DJO's acquisition includes MedShape's device portfolio for fracture fixation, joint fusion and soft tissue injury repair. Medshape is DJO's second acquisition this year. In January, the company acquired Trilliant Surgical, another orthopedic foot and ankle device company.

MedShape recently appointed Gregory C. Berlet MD, as its CMO.
