TheraCell surpasses 200 procedures with its Fiber Anchor

Spinal Tech

TheraCell has implanted more than 200 of its TheraFuze DBF Fiber Anchors since its limited commercial release, the company said July 6.

According to the company, it acts like a drywall anchor and improves screw fixation in spine surgeries and revision cases. It's made from demineralized cortical bone fibers.

Frank Phillips, MD, a surgeon at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center has used the Fiber Anchor in several cases.

"This technology adds immense value in revision surgery as well as in longer deformity constructs where loss of hardware fixation and resultant failure of fusion is a significant concern," he said.
