Aurora Spine's cervical spine line approved by FDA

Spinal Tech

Aurora Spine received 510(k) approval from the FDA for its Dexa-C cervical interbody system, according to an Aug. 3 news release.

The Dexa-C line of cervical cages is used for anterior cervical discectomy with fusion procedures. The devices use Aurora Spine's Dexa technology, which creates implants with varying densities to match a patient's bone density.

"This is a breakthrough for Aurora as this first device using our proprietary DEXA patent opens the door for improved fixation that wasn't available up to now," said Laszlo Garamszegi, chief technology officer.
