SeaSpine isn't able to confirm its previously issued revenue guidance for 2021 due to COVID-19 and its impact on spine surgery volumes,Seeking Alpha reported Sept. 27.
Three notes:
1. SeaSpine said in a Sept. 24 regulatory filing that cancellation or postponement of procedures, along with labor shortages negatively impacted spine surgery volumes in the third quarter. The shortages were the most severe in August.
2. Areas where the effect was seen in the U.S. include Florida and Texas, which contribute to a significant portion of SeaSpine's top line.
3. SeaSpine estimates its total third quarter revenue will grow at the mid-single-digit range from the same time in 2020.
