Patients show 12-month improvement with Centinel Spine implant, study shows

A 12-month study confirmed the effectiveness of Centinel Spine's STALIF C-Ti implant.

The study, published in the Journal of Surgery & Anesthesia Research, was conducted  in 145 patients who had surgery with the STALIF C-Ti integrated cage-screw implants and looked at 12-month outcome scores, Centinel Spine said in an Oct. 26 news release. Scores measured included Neck Disability Index, Visual Analog Scale neck, VAS left arm and VAS right arm.

"This is what I believe to be a very important multi-center study on stand-alone devices," co-investigator Jad Khalil, MD, said. "There is very little data on stand-alone devices. And, while reference is frequently made comparing cervical fusions, the majority of those references are comparing plated fusions. This study was undertaken to determine if there was an advantage to an Integrated Interbody device over traditional plated fusion."
