RTI Surgical is splitting its company into independent entities focused on surgical implants and biologics.
The tissues and biologics business will retain the RTI Surgical name, according to a Jan. 4 news release. Olivier Visa, CEO, will continue leading the Alachua, Fla.-based brand. It will focus on allograft and xenograft tissue-based implants.
The metals business, which focuses on implants and instruments for spine, orthopedic and cardiothoracic applications will be called Resolve Surgical Technologies. Megan Osorio, the current president of the metals business, will lead the company.
