Kankakee, Ill.-based Riverside Healthcare opened a new $5 million orthopedic facility, Riverside Orthopedic Specialists in Bourbonnais, Ill., according to the Daily Journal.
Here are three things to know:
1. The 8,000-square-foot center is staffed by five full-time orthopedic surgeons:
• Jonathan Cotton, MD, who specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine
• Taruna Madhav Crawford, MD, who specializes in hand surgery
• Joshua Miller, MD, who specializes in orthopedic surgery
• Jessica Shin, MD, who specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine
• Andrew Toftoy, MD, who specializes in shoulder surgery and sports medicine
2. The center is currently searching for a sixth orthopedic surgeon who specializes in trauma orthopedic services.
3. Riverside Healthcare President and CEO Phil Kamic said the new center was constructed to accommodate the growing number of Kankakee residents who were traveling outside of the area for orthopedic care.
