New Albany, Ohio-based JIS Orthopedics has been treating patients since 1972. Here are seven things to know about the practice, according to a Feb. 2 news release :
1. Since its opening, JIS has performed 70,000 procedures.
2. The clinic performs about 5,000 surgeries and 1,700 outpatient joint replacements every year.
3. JIS was founded by Thomas Mallory, MD, the first surgeon to perform a total hip replacement in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Mallory died in May 2019 at age 80.
4. The practice has four distinct orthopedic departments.
5. JIS has eight surgeons on staff.
6. JIS has Ohio locations in New Albany, Athens and St. Clairsville.
7. JIS is part of the OrthoAlliance network.
