Jesse C. DeLee, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at University of Texas Health San Antonio.
Dr. DeLee served as a full-time faculty member at UT Health San Antonio from 1978 to 1983. He now holds a clinical orthopedic surgery professorship there and works in private practice.
Dr. DeLee is director of UT Health San Antonio's Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship, which he founded. He also founded the Nix Medical Center Sports Medicine Clinic in San Antonio.
The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine inducted Dr. DeLee into its Hall of Fame in 2017.
Dr. DeLee served on The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery's board of editors and board of trustees. He is Orthopaedic Sports Medicine's co-editor and the quarterly publication Techniques in Sports Medicine's founding co-editor.
A graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. DeLee completed a residency at UT Health San Antonio. He then undertook a fellowship in joint reconstructive surgery with Sir John Charnley in Wrightington, England. Dr. DeLee was awarded the American Orthopaedic Association ABC Traveling Fellowship in 1983.
