Kenneth Nwosu, MD, performed the first spine surgery in King County, Wash., to use the new ExcelsiusGPS at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way on Jan. 6.
The ExcelsiusGPS, from Globus Medical, is designed to improve accuracy during spine surgery, IT provides improved patient anatomy visualization and can also streamline the surgical workflow while reducing radiation exposure for the surgeon and staff.
The robotic system has a rigid robotic arm as well as full navigation capabilities.
