Medtronic robotic navigation system gets clearance for neurosurgery

Robotics

The FDA cleared Medtronic's Stealth Autoguide system for neurosurgical procedures Dec. 18, reports Seeking Alpha.

Three insights:

1. Stealth Autoguide provides neurosurgeons with robotic-assisted positioning and trajectory guidance for cranial procedures.

2. The system aims to improve surgical workflow by providing real-time navigation and visualization of the robotic alignment.

3. Stealth Autoguide is cleared for biopsies, stereoelectroencephalography depth electrode placement and for positioning Medtronic's Visualase bone anchor, which is used for catheter placement.
