7 Recent Orthopedic Device Company Expansions & Agreements

Money LadderSpinal Elements, based in Carlsbad, Calif., has relocated its corporate headquarters to a 40,000-square-foot location. The company's original headquarters was 8,500 square feet. EOS imaging, orthopedic imaging company based in Paris, has expanded its presence in the Asian market with the recruitment of a regional sales manager and distribution agreements in six countries. The country added to distribution agreements in Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia to its existing agreements in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Stryker, based in Kalamazoo, Mich., has recently acquired China-based orthopedic developer Trauson Holdings. Stryker intends to continue making acquisitions in the orthopedics and spine markets.

Smith & Nephew, based in London, will acquire Adler Mediequip.The agreement includes the assets and brands of Sushrut Surgicals, an Indian developer of orthopedic trauma products. 

Zimmer Holdings, based in Warsaw, Ind., has acquired the business assets of Knee Creations, a West Chester, Penn.-based developer of the joint preservation treatment Subchondroplasty. The acquisition will expand Zimmer's portfolio of knee treatment products.

The orthopedics division of Stryker has entered into an agreement with Sunrise, Fla.-based OrthoSensor to co-market Stryker's Triathlon Knee System and OrthoSensor's VERASENSE instrument system.

NuVasive, based in San Diego, has acquired the Dayton, Ohio, spine implant manufacturer ANC for $4.5 million.
