San Diego-based DJO Global released its second quarter results and posted a net loss of $20.6 million, 3.6 percent more than the nearly $20 million loss reported during the same period last year. DJO's net sales increased 3.1 percent from last year to $294.7 million, and gross profits increased 1 percent to $175.8 million. Gross profits from surgical implants increased 13.7 percent to $15.4 million.
The increased net loss can be largely attributed to an increased income tax provision, from $87,000 in 2012 to $2.2 million.
