Medtronic Launches New Procedure for Lateral Lumbar Spine Access

Spinal Tech

Medtronic has launched a new procedure to allow for lateral access to the L5-S1 disc space. Called the Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion for L5-S1, the procedure gives surgeons access to all levels of the lower lumbar spine in one patient positioning. The OLIF51 requires less muscle disruption than other approaches and aims to provide greater intraoperative efficiencies.
