5 Key Points on Aurora Spine

Here are five key points on Aurora Spine, a major player in the spine devices market:  

1. Aurora Spine announced that it will be participating at the 2014 European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Conference, June 4 to June 6 in London in the United Kingdom.

 

The company will also exhibit its products at the conference, including its Zip Ultra minimally invasive ISP fusion system in combination with the TiNano interbody spinal fusion cage portfolio, according to Sven Claes, international product director of Aurora Spine.

 

2. The company has participated in numerous conferences recently, including the 2014 International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery Conference in Miami Beach, Fla.; the 13th Annual Needham Healthcare Conference in New York City; and BritSpine 2014 at the University of Warwick in Coventry, U.K.

 

3. Aurora Spine's products include the ZIP MIS Interspinous Fusion System, ZIP ULTRA MIS Interspinous Fusion System and the ZIP L5-S1 Sacral Interspinous Fusion Implant. The company recently announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the company's new ZIP MIS system and for additional sizes of the company's ZIP ULTRA Minimally Invasive Interspinous Fusion System. The new ZIP MIS system features non-articulating bone anchors, Aurora Spine's patent pending one-step locking mechanism with no set screw and a large graft space designed for biologic material.

 

4. The company's products are used worldwide. In March, Aurora Spine announced the first surgical implant of its ZIP ULTRA Minimally Invasive Interspinous Fusion Implant in Poland.

 

5. Aurora Spine also recently announced the appointment of Doug Johnson as regional vice president of sales for the Eastern United States. Mr. Johnson most recently served as the area vice president east/director of business development for Life Spine.

 

The company's management team also includes CEO Trent Northcutt, CFO Eric Fronk and COO Ken Gross.
