THINK Surgical received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its TSolution One Surgical System for total hip arthroplasty.
Here are three things to know about the device and company:
1. The active robotic system consists of two technologies — the TPLAN 3D planning workstation and the TCAT computer-assisted tool.
2. The TPLAN 3D workstation helps surgeons with preoperative planning by creating a 3D model of the patient's anatomy based on CT images. The surgeon then uses the TCAT computer-assisted tool and the patient's preoperative plan to prepare the bone cavity and joint surface.
3. THINK Surgical develops, manufactures and markets a robotic, computer-assisted surgical system for orthopedic surgery. The company recently changed its name from Curexo Technology Corporation to THINK Surgical.
