Spinal Tech

Shelton, Conn.-based Spine Wave commercially launched its Velocity L Expandable Interbody Device and the XLR II Lateral Access System.

Here are five takeaways:

1. The Velocity L Expandable Interbody Device is intended to subdue the impaction of large lateral implants into collapsed disc spaces.

2. The device has a low profile insertion height with controlled expansion to the disc space height.

3. The Velocity L's bone grafting system permits the surgeon to place a significant amount of bone graft into the large graft chamber.

4. The implant's load-bearing core is composed of PEEK.

5. The XLR II Lateral Access System implants the Velocity L device, offering stability, visualization and intraoperative flexibility.
