Malden, Mass.-based AxioMed released a video highlighting its Freedom Disc's viscoelastic properties.
Here are four things to know:
1. The Freedom Disc features viscoelastic material, which encompasses viscous and elastic characteristics when deformed.
2. These characteristics mirror the process of human discs when distributing force, allowing the disc to estimate the stiffness of a natural human disc.
3. The disc's hysteresis curve resembles a healthy human disc.
4. The Freedom Disc's viscoelastic polymer core expands radially and axially.
