Tempe, Ariz.-based MedPlast has named Brian King its new CEO.
Here are five things to know:
1. Mr. King's appointment is effective May 1, 2017 and he will serve on the company's board of directors.
2. Current CEO Harold Faig will continue serving as a company board member to support MedPlast's technology initiatives.
3. Mr. King's executive operating experience has spanned 25 years. He previously worked with Covidien for 10 years and was chief transformation officer for Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Synthes.
4. Mr. King said, "MedPlast has all of the key components, particularly the expertise, range of capabilities and high-quality standards, to become a differentiated services partner to medical device companies."
5. MedPlast acquired South Plainfield, N.J.-based Vention Medical's Device Manufacturing Services business last week in an effort to expand its global network of device manufacturing facilities.
