Xtant Medical entered into a licensing agreement with Sites Medical.
Here are five things to know:
1. The licensing agreement allows Xtant Medical to use the company's proprietary OsteoSync Ti technology.
2. A porous titanium scaffold, OsteoSync Ti technology features a high friction coefficient which ensures high initial implant stability.
3. The technology's open pore geometry and micro-texturing promote bone ingrowth.
4. At five weeks, preclinical testing revealed OsteoSync Ti technology enabled bone attachment strength nearly twice that of titanium plasma spray as well as seven times that of PEEK material.
5. Xtant Medical will showcase its first devices featuring the OsteoSync Ti technology at the North American Spine Society annual meeting, in Orlando, Fla. from Oct. 25 to Oct. 28.
