Stryker donated technology to Cincinnati-based Mayfield Education & Research Foundation.
Here are five highlights:
1 The donation of specialized drill sets had a price tag of $375,000.
2. The Mayfield Education & Research Foundation will use the technology to upgrade the Mayfield Surgical Innovation Center's laboratory spine experience for neurosurgeon training.
3. Surgeons will use the drills for bone drilling.
4. The Mayfield Surgical Innovation Center — a collaboration between Mayfield Education & Research Foundation, The Mayfield Spine Surgery Center and Mayfield Clinic — will likely host about 30 labs in 2017. The labs are designed to train medical residents, practicing surgeons and medical device professionals.
5. The center houses six stations which can hold up to 50 people in training or research projects.
