Mazor Robotics received 22 system purchase orders in the second quarter, including 19 for the Mazor X system; Medtronic made 11 of those purchases. The company deepened its relationship with Medtronic over the quarter and expects revenue to continue growing.
"This quarter we transferred to Medtronic members of our talented capital sales team along with a solid sales pipeline," said CEO Ori Hadomi. "This transition was performed in a smooth and effective manner and we maintained robust sales activity during the transition period."
Medtronic assumed full responsibility for Mazor X distribution on Sept. 18 and the company ended the quarter with a backlog of 17 systems. Mazor expects to report $17.2 million in third quarter revenue on Nov. 7.
Mazor also received three orders for Renaissance systems from the company's distribution partner in China.
