Medtronic named Laura Mauri, MD, its new vice president of global clinical research and analytics, according to the Star Tribune.
Here are four highlights.
1. Dr. Mauri will begin the transition into her new role later in June. She will officially assume the role Sept. 1 and report to Medtronic's Chief Medical and Scientific Officer Rick Kuntz, MD.
2. She is a leading cardiologist who gained recognition for her role in the DAPT trial, and international clinical study including more than 25,000 stent patients to address questions on antiplatelet drug consumption length.
3. Dr. Mauri will continue serving as a professor at Boston-based Harvard Medical School. However, she will step down from her role at Boston-based Brigham and Women's Hospital.
4. As vice president of global clinical research and analytics, Dr. Mauri will push Medtronic's efforts toward value-based care contracts.
