Spinal implant manufacturer Ulrich Medical USA filed a lawsuit alleging Hurst, Texas-based St. Camillus Hospital owes thousands of dollars in outstanding bills, according to the St. Louis Record.
Here are three things to know:
1. Ulrich filed the lawsuit July 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. The company alleges St. Camillus Hospital bought more than $164,000 worth of devices during 2017 and 2018 and still owes more than $132,000.
2. The Texas hospital performed at least 18 surgeries using Ulrich's implants. An invoice is sent out after each surgery, but "there remains a number of outstanding invoices for Ulrich's implants for which, despite repeated requests for payments, St. Camillus has refused to pay," the complaint alleges.
3. Ulrich seeks the amount due along with "interest at the highest legal rate," according to the complaint.
