Spinal Tech

New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery performed its first patient cases with the hipEOS 3.0 surgical planning system.

Four things to know:

1. HipEOS uses patient specific models and data to help surgeons select and position implants for the best anatomical fit.

2. The device provides surgeon-controlled guidance for intraoperative positional measurements to improve the treatment of total hip arthroplasty surgical results.

3. HipEOS is delivered intraoperatively by Intellijoint Surgical's smart navigation system Intellijoint Hip.

4. Orthopedic surgeon Peter Sculco, MD, performed the initial procedures at HSS.
