Lakewood Ranch (Fla.) Medical Center recently installed 7D Surgical's Machine-vision Image Guided Surgery system for spine and neurosurgery, reports Your Observer.
Operating without radiation, MvIGS aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of spine and cranial procedures. More than 1,500 clinical cases have been completed with the device.
The hospital purchased the device for $450,000.
It is the second facility in Florida to install the MvIGS system and the 22nd in the U.S., according to Your Observer.
