Zimmer Biomet plans to drastically scale back operations for two weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WANE 15 reports.
The orthopedic device maker will limit operations beginning April 13. Its production lines for critical device components will remain operational.
This is one of several measures Zimmer is implementing to offset financial losses stemming from elective procedure bans across the country. Anticipating a roughly 10 percent drop in first-quarter revenues, Zimmer announced CEO Bryan Hanson is temporarily eliminating his salary, while other leaders are having their compensation reduced.
