OrthoPediatrics launches spinal deformity correction system

Spinal Tech

Medical device company OrthoPediatrics on June 10 launched the ApiFix minimally invasive deformity correction system.

Three things to know:

1. The posterior correction device is used to treat progressive adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

2. Surgeons can use the technology to permanently correct curvature of the spine and retain spinal flexibility. It is used as an alternative to spinal fusion.

3. OrthoPediatrics secured the rights to the technology after its acquisition of ApiFix in April.
