Google, Walmart execs enter medtech: 7 leadership changes at orthopedic companies

From a Google executive shaking up a spine company and a Walmart leader joining Medtronic, here are seven leadership changes announced in the orthopedic device industry in the past month:

Medtronic hired Walmart executive Greg Smith to lead its global operations and supply chain.

SeaSpine added Shweta Singh Maniar, global leader of healthcare and life sciences solutions at Google Cloud, to its board of directors.

Gregory Lucier will retire from NuVasive's board of directors May 18.

Zimmer Biomet's Lori Winkler transitioned to chief human resources officer, and Sang Yi was promoted to group president of the Asia Pacific region.

Zimmer Biomet also named Ivan Tornos, its group president of global businesses and the Americas, as COO.

Bioventus appointed Larry Chen managing director for the China and Asian Pacific region.
