New Bedford, Mass.-based Southcoast Health reached a milestone since adopting the 7D surgical system for spine surgery in 2019.
Neurosurgeon Matthew Philips, MD, performed Southcoast Health's 200th procedure with the system, according to a June 2 news release. The milestone surgery was a posterior lumbar interbody fusion and took place at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
Southcoast Health is the first system in Massachusetts to adopt 7D's surgical system, and it's the second institution in the nation to reach the milestone. Cleveland Clinic hit the 200-procedure mark less than a month ago.
