Orthopedic devicemaker Exactech has launched a series of updates to its Active Intelligence technologies to help surgeons plan, perform and better predict outcomes in shoulder replacement surgery.
The updates include a new user interface with visualization tools and views; an implant verification tool for reverse and anatomic shoulder surgeries; and the ability to wirelessly transmit case reports.
Exactech's new machine learning-based software Predict+ is also featured. The technology leverages predictive analytics and patient data from thousands of cases to predict better outcomes, according to the company.
"Exactech's smart technologies have allowed me to plan, share and execute Equinoxe shoulder replacements with more confidence," Ari Youderian, MD, of Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Calif., said in a June 22 news release. "Connecting to Predict+ through the shoulder planning app helps me better evaluate my implant choice and communicate expectations with my patients."
