Dr. Jason Toy debuts new 3D-printed lateral interbody

Spinal Tech

Jason Toy, MD, of Austin-based Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas, debuted a new lateral interbody system made of 3D-printed titanium.

The Nexxt Spine Matrixx implant provides increased endplate coverage for stability and fusion potential, according to a July 14 news release. It can be used with the Struxxure-L lateral plating system, and surgeons can choose one of three options for placement.

"The Nexxt Matrixx lateral interbody system continues to innovate upon procedures such as minimally invasive lateral fusion by providing a 3D-manufactured titanium device designed to support osteogenesis, as well as a surface topography designed to increase osteoblast differentiation and production of angiogenic factors," Dr. Toy said.
