Orthofix sees 66% revenue growth in Q2: 5 notes

Orthofix posted $121 million in sales during the second quarter, up 66 percent from the same time last year.

Five notes:

1. The company saw a net income of $2.4 million.

2. Sales of the M6-C cervical disc and Fitbone limb lengthening system were $9 million.

3. U.S. spinal implant sales grew 56 percent year over year and grew 37 percent compared to the second quarter of 2019.

4. Global spine and orthopedic sales were $94.7 million and $26.7 million, respectively. Spine sales grew 62.5 percent, and orthopedic sales increased 66 percent compared to the same period last year. 

5. President and CEO Jon Serbousek said: "Into the back half of the year, we will maintain focus on our near-term growth drivers, the M6-C artificial cervical disc, the Fitbone limb lengthening system, and our recently bolstered 3D-printed titanium spinal interbody portfolio. In addition, we will continue to invest in initiatives that will drive growth in the coming quarters, such as the expansion of our biologics portfolio with products like the recently-launched fiberFuse Strip, and the development of innovative new bone growth therapy products for spine and orthopedics."
