Surgalign's artificial intelligence and augmented reality surgical guidance system was debuted at Indiana Spine Hospital in Carmel, Ind.
Mario Brkaric, MD, completed the first case with the Holo Portal system, according to a May 5 news release.
Holo Portal incorporates intraoperative images to plan screw placement trajectories and shows anatomy and pinpoints the paths using AR. In January, the FDA cleared the system for lumbar spine procedures, the release said.
