Surgalign partners to expand access to spine devices

PRIA Healthcare has partnered with Surgalign Holdings to expand access to Surgalign spine devices.

"We partnered with PRIA because of their extensive experience advocating for patients to receive favorable medical coverage," Terry Rich, Surgalign president and CEO said in a July 14 company news release. "Ultimately this program will expand patient access to procedures and devices such as the Coflex interlaminar stabilization and Simmetry SI joint fusion systems."

The Coflex interlaminar stabilization device is a lumbar motion-preservation implant that maintains stability in the spine after direct surgical decompression while preserving more natural movement, Surgalign said. It's been implanted more than 175,000 times globally.

The Simmetry SI joint fusion systemincorporates the principles of joint decortication, bone grafting and fixation to provide an optimal environment for arthrodesis, Surgalign said.

PRIA builds programs for providers that speed adoption of emerging devices and procedures and uses patient and clinical data to persuade insurers to adopt coverage of these innovations.
