Spineology single-tube endoscopic system gets limited release

Spinal Tech

Spineology's OptiLIF Endo system was released in a limited launch, the devicemaker said Aug. 4.

OptiLIF Endo is a minimally invasive system that uses one tubular retractor to integrate endoscopes and endoscopic equipment, according to a news release. The OptiMesh multiplanar expandable implant allows the system to use the smallest diameter tubular retractor for a spinal fusion system. The system is also designed to reduce radiation exposure.

"OptiLIF Endo provides the power of direct endoscopic visualization throughout the entirety of the procedure, including disc space access, decompression, discectomy/endplate preparation and interbody placement," Chief Commercial Officer Matt Cronin said in the release. "Direct visualization of the neural structures increases efficiency and safety when accessing the disc space, and the robust offering of new, endoscopic-specific discectomy tools included with OptiLIF Endo facilitates efficient endplate preparation under endoscopy to optimize fusion."
