Utah-based developer Novarad Corp. has announced a strategic alliance with several neurosurgical and spine distributors across the U.S. to distribute its AR surgical navigation system, VisAR.
VisAR transforms imaging data to present it to surgeons in 3D through an optical visor.
The distribution network currently includes US Neurosurgical, Proficient Surgical, Life Surgical, Nautilus Surgical and Armamentarium Surgical.
"This is transformational technology that provides the precision of a robot, the portability of a stethoscope and the versatility of human powered intelligence," Wendell Gibby, MD, Novarad's founder and CEO said in a Sept. 8 press release. "Like a surgical GPS, VisAR provides a roadmap to guide the surgeon to the pathology of interest."
