Nexus Spine celebrated the 5,000th implantation of its interbody fusion technology Tranquil.
The 5,000 implants were among Tranquil's entire portfolio, including its ALIF, TLIF and DLIF devices, according to an Oct. 11 news release from the company.
"Through compliant mechanism engineering, we are able to appropriately and precisely match the stiffness of Tranquil to cancellous bone," David Hawkes, president of Nexus Spine, said in the release. "This creates a safe zone of mechanical loading that promotes bone formation and stability through more rapid implant integration with the vertebral endplate."
