Medtronic partnered with Australian medtech company DorsaVi to develop wearable sensors for patients with spinal cord injuries, Au Manufacturing reported Oct. 25.
Andrew Ronchi, PhD, DorsaVi's CEO carried out beta testing of the device in the U.S. The sensors use DorsaVi's custom artificial intelligence to measure the quality of movement.
"The project is the result of over one and a half years of collaboration between dorsaVi and Medtronic where our cutting-edge sensor technology and proprietary AI algorithms have helped make the project possible," Dr. Ronchi said in the release.
