The Mariner deformity pedicle screw system from Orthofix and SeaSpine's merged company was released in a full commercial launch, the devicemaker said Jan. 26.
This is the first product launch since Orthofix and SeaSpine completed their merger, according to a news release. The full launch adds reduction and correction instrumentation, specializd implant technologies and osteotomy tools. It is compatible with the 7D Flash navigation system.
The first cases with Mariner have been completed, Orthofix said.
"The Mariner deformity system represents an innovative collaboration between surgical minds and a cutting-edge product development team," Dennis Cirino, SeaSpine's senior vice president of global spine, said in the release. "Combined with our market-leading biologics and 7D Flash navigation with machine vision accuracy and segmental registration, this system is designed to deliver a full solution that meets clinical needs and advances the modular platform of the Mariner family."
