Fernando Villamil, MD, completed the first clinical case with ZSFab's cervical interbody implant, the devicemaker said April 5.
The device is designed for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion and is made with 3D-printed titanium, according to a news release. It has rigid teeth on its surface to prevent migration after implantation.
Dr. Villamil is an orthopedic surgeon with the Center for Orthopedic Reconstruction and Excellence hospital in Jenks, Okla. He is chair of ZSFab's medical advisory board.
