Zimmer Biomet's CEO, Bryan Hanson, is leaving the orthopedic medtech company for 3M healthcare spinoff Health Care Business Group.
Mr. Hanson will join 3M on Sept. 1 as Health Care Business Group's CEO after serving as Zimmer Biomet's chief executive since 2017, according to an Aug. 22 news release from 3M.
3M's diversified healthcare technology business earned $8.4 billion in sales in 2022. Prior to joining Zimmer Biomet, Mr. Hanson held roles at Medtronic and Covidien.
3M has also named Carrie Cox as chairman of its board of directors and Monish Patolawala as its CFO.
Zimmer Biomet's former COO, Ivan Tornos, will move into the role of CEO.
