Healthcare technology company Medtronic has received CE Mark approval for its latest spinal cord stimulator.
The Inceptiv device is the company's first rechargeable spinal cord stimulator with a closed-loop feature, which is designed to sense biological signals and adjust stimulation as needed, according to an Aug. 25 news release from Medtronic.
Spinal cord stimulators deliver mild electrical impulses to the spinal cord, which can disrupt pain signals before they reach the brain. CE Mark approval allows the Inceptiv system to be commercially available in Europe, but it is not yet approved in the U.S., according to the release.
