Alphatec added Dave Demski and Keith Valentine to its board, according to an Oct. 17 news release.
Mr. Demski was CEO of Globus Medical before its merger with NuVasive, and Mr. Valentine was CEO of Orthofix.
Mr. Demski is an independent director to Alphatec's board, and Mr. Valentine was appointed as a special adviser to the board. Both have decades of experience in the spine industry.
Alphatec CEO Patrick Miles also addressed a recent investigation into Orthofix, which led to the appointment of an interim CEO in September.
"We are aware of the recent negative commentary directed at Keith by his former employer," Mr. Miles said in the release. "Years ago, I too was the target of a very public assault. … Keith has made it clear he is ready to devote his considerable energy to making ATEC better, and I am thrilled to have him join our effort."
