6 big deals shaking up the spine, orthopedic industry

Here are six major acquisitions Becker's has reported on since Sept. 1: 

1. Smith + Nephew entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CartiHeal, a sports medicine technology startup. Smith + Nephew will pay $180 million at closing and up to an additional $150 million based on financial performance.

2. Boston Scientific closed its acquisition of Relievant Medsystems, the company behind the Intracept intraosseous nerve ablation system. The transaction includes an upfront cash payment of $850 million and contingent payments based on sales over three years.

3. Silony Medical completed its acquisition of Centinel Spine's global spinal fusion business and is rebranding as Silony Spine. 

4. Enovis plans to acquire LimaCorporate in a deal worth more than $700 million.

5. Restor3d completed its acquisition of Conformis. Conformis was valued at $2.27 per share when the deal was announced in June.

6. Globus Medical and NuVasive closed their $3.1 billion merger.
