Medtronic named among world's 'most ethical' companies

Spinal Tech

Orthopedic and spine tech manufacturer Medtronic has been named among the world's most ethical companies by for-profit ethical standards company the Ethisphere Institute.

Medtronic was recognized alongside 136 organizations "for their unwavering commitment to business integrity," with honorees spanning 20 countries and 44 industries. Four health systems, including HCA and Northwell Health, were also recognized.

Medtronic was the only musculoskeletal device company recognized for 2024. This is Medtronic's second time earning a spot on the list.

The company, which is based in Ireland with U.S. headquarters in Minneapolis, has an annual revenue of $31.7 billion.

For the list, Ethisphere uses a proprietary rating system, known as the Ethics Quotient, to conduct a qualitative and quantitative assessment across five categories: third-party management; governance; culture of ethics; ethics and compliance; and environmental and social impact. Companies must apply, which includes an application fee. More information about the evaluation process is available here
