Stryker's spine navigation system: 4 things to know

Spinal Tech

Stryker's Q Guidance system is designed for spine and cranial surgery planning and navigation.

Here are four things to know:

1. Stryker's Q Guidance System with spine software launched in 2022. It allows full-spectrum active and passive hybrid optical tracking, semi-automatic and automatic processing features, gesture recognition and compatibility with various image sets.

2. By October 2023 more than 2,400 cases were completed with the Q guidance system.

3. Stryker's Q Guidance System with Spine Guidance 5 Software featuring Copilot earned 510(k) clearance from the FDA in July. The software is intended to provide multiple feedback modalities for supporting bone resection, pedicle preparation and screw delivery to help maximize a surgeon's effectiveness and enhance patient outcomes.

4. The Q guidance system is FDA approved for use in pediatric spine patients who are at  least 13 years old, and the cranial guidance software has optional modules including navigated catheter placement via electromagnetic tracking and precision targeting for brain biopsies, according to Stryker's website.
